Making a compost bin is one of the most ecological and rewarding jobs you can do for yourself and the planet, and it's dead easy!
Here is how:
Start with a large bin, any bin is fine so long it has a lid.
Drill holes In the lid to make sure that there is some but limited amount of rain water entering into the bin.
Start by adding leaves and a bit of earth or compost into the bottom.
AND You're DONE!!
Yep it's that easy!
You can pretty much throw any type of veg, nuts and fruit into it.
Make sure to mix it up every now and then with a big stick. Every few months throw a couple handful of dirt/earth in there to encourage the speed from scraps to compost.
In coming weeks you will notice tiny little red worms also called red wigglers sitting on top of the bin and around the edges, they are extremely helpful in turning the food into compost, so treat them nicely by being careful when removing the lid to add more scraps to the bin.
